It is, he indicates, about “documenting, disseminating and making visible the island's craftsmanship” through highlighting the link between craftsmanship and the territory. Ultimately, the project is aimed at showing the peculiarities of the craftsmanship carried out on this island and what distinguishes it from the rest of the Canary Islands. Planned actions There are three actions planned in this project. On the one hand, the identification and collection of raw materials, documenting the different plant fibers and clay used, as well as the recovery of other materials that have been traditionally used. On the other hand, there is the need to recover the network of trails linked to the collection of materials and develop projects with local entities. Finally, it is about showing the differential aspects of La Gomera crafts through the promotion of its own brand and the development of regulations, agreed upon with the artisans, by which the brand must be governed. Strategic plan The project receives funds from the Biosphere Reserve, one of whose sections is the dissemination of events related to crafts. Likewise, it responds to a strategic plan to promote crafts, a plan that is structured into training, marketing, dissemination and organization activities. As for training, it is about disseminating the craft sector among the island's schools. Marketing involves the creation and promotion of sales points in public buildings. The disclosure is based on the documentation and identification project for raw materials. Finally, the organization is focused on preparing craft samples to the extent that health restrictions allow, as well as preparing the craft center.
